Wendy Ellis Smith  

California artist, Wendy Ellis-Smith, revives the art of decoupage. Using her unique design style, Smith creates a virtual “Painting in Paper”. Best known for her highly lacquered and tasseled boxes of all shapes and sizes, the artist composes a unique vignette pertaining to a specific theme. Wendy’s work also includes furniture, folding screens, tableware and silk scarves.

            Smith is presently featuring a series of highly unusual decoupage boxes depicting the signs of the zodiac. These skilled pieces are also available as commission works.
